    Chris,
I noticed your invite to this discussion on the God's Politics blog. I thought I'd check it out. Thanks for putting this together. I get the feeling you're looking to create a community where Christians who identify with the American/Anglo Conservative tradition can come and discuss politics and the ethics and logic that underlie our worldview(s). I have yet to find an interactive online forum that is for Christians who are politically conservative yet aren't simply interested in either being a mouthpiece for the Republican party or for engaging in conspiracy-type theories about their political opponents. I'm looking for a reflective forum, not a reactive one (i.e. the anti-freerepublic). If this is what you're attempting to do, I applaud you. Ironically, the God's Politics blog is the closest I've come to finding a forum where Christians of all political persuasions can discuss political issues where the usual nutcases don't intrude.

Again, thanks for creating this. I'll add a couple thoughts to some of the topics you've brought up so far. Hopefully you can build a readership. Good luck.

Yeah, that's the general idea, although I don't want to exclude non-Christian conservatives. If they arrive at similar theories by different premises, fine. I think we can use all the brains we can get to refine conservative theory, even if they're liberal. See this announcement for what I intended as a declaration of independence and constitution.

There's also a related issue that I want to watch out for... I don't want to ever give the impression that the board endorses anything except conservatism, like SoJo does. This is not an activist organization; it's an area for activists to exchange ideas. And I don't want to be a leader so much as a facilitator and discussion-fellow. If I decide I want to lead anything (fat chance), I expect to start a separate project.

I did also Sam and thought it to be easy to navigate and Chris is able to promote a good atomsphere for conversation. I was a long time Republican Activist, been in more campaigns then most people I know , more loosing ones also. The early 90s was about the last time we republicans won , piggy backed on the republican revolution on the local level with Newt.

I live a ferry away from Seattle. Quite liberal in my area, but have been dis illusioned with the GOP both locally , state and national and basically quit . Not a PCO anymore either .

In any case it would be nice to get some conversations going , Gods politics has gotten worse since the last election in regards to topics and how the conversations are discussed. I stay away much just for my own anger with some of what I discern there appears so anti Unity in the church . I make it worse I am sure. Even worse then the religious right attempt to use politics , which I myself was guilty of at one time . I just never thought I would see socialism/communistic beliefs given preference over God's people in my life time . Do a search on Jim Wallis sometime , it is hard tio get a clear picture from some of the nasty blogs about him , but his politics are so far left his communistic beliefs are actually true.

    Take Care ,

Thanks for the vote of confidence, Mick. My main problem with getting conversations going is that I don't like to advertise. The invite that you two followed was rather unusual for me. I prefer to mention it in person or when I get a more personal relationship online. If you guys have any thoughts on how to get the word out without breaching netiquette I'd appreciate them.
